Quick Facts
House Guidelines
The everyday things that keep the stay comfortable for everyone.
Backyard, Gates & Pets
All backyard gates must remain closed at all times. Pets must stay within the fenced yard unless approved, and on leash outside it. Please supervise pets and clean up after them.
Garbage & Recycling
You're responsible for removing garbage and recycling from the suite, outdoor areas, BBQ, and pool area. Dispose in the dumpster near the pool gate or barn driveway.
Noise
No loud outdoor music or noise after 11:00 p.m.
Barn & Pool
Full guidelines for both are below — see Barn & Horse Guidelines and Pool & Safety Guidelines.
Children
Adult supervision is required at all times, especially:
- Around the pool and pool area
- Around the fire pit
- Around the barn and paddocks
- When using recreational equipment
Children under 13, or under 5 ft tall, should not use the billiards table.
Well & Septic System
Please conserve water where possible. Flush toilet paper only — no wipes or other materials. Do not put grease or food down drains. Well water may leave mineral marks; please use the squeegee after showering if possible.
Fire, Smoking & Candles
No smoking, candles, or open flames indoors. Fire pit use only: burn wood only, no cooking in the fire pit, and fires must never be left unattended.
Food & Drink
Please keep food and drinks to the kitchen and patio areas. Avoid bedrooms and areas where spills may occur. Please don't consume food or drinks near the pool table.
Heating, A/C & Lights
Please close windows and doors when the A/C is running, and turn off unnecessary lights. On cooler evenings, turn off the A/C to prevent freezing.
Events & Additional Guests
Prior approval is required for any gatherings, events, or additional guests. Event fees and additional requirements may apply.
Liability
Guests are responsible for any damage caused by themselves or their guests. Sky Haven Equestrian Centre Inc. is not liable for injury or loss except where caused by negligence.
Barn & Horse Guidelines
We're glad to have you near the horses — a few things keep everyone, including them, safe and calm.
Visiting the Horses
Visits must be arranged in advance — please text 705-761-3525 before visiting. Guests may observe horses from outside the fencing only.
Fencing & Safety
All paddock fencing is electric and delivers a strong shock — do not touch. Gates are not electrified. Guests are not permitted to enter paddocks, stalls, or the arena at any time.
Interaction with Horses
Do not feed horses unless approved. Horses may approach out of curiosity — please remain calm and don't reach over fencing.
Calm Environment
Horses are sensitive to movement and sound. Please avoid running, shouting, and sudden movements (including umbrellas or fast gestures).
Barn & Arena Areas
Access is by prior permission only. Please approach quietly, and avoid walking close to the arena during lessons.
Children
Children must be closely supervised at all times when near horses or paddocks.
Walking Trail
A walking trail is available for safe viewing of the paddocks. Please remain on marked paths where possible.
Our Approach
We value calm, respectful interaction with horses. Even quiet observation can be meaningful.
Pool & Safety Guidelines
We're pleased to offer use of the pool — a few guidelines keep it safe and well cared for.
General Use
Pool use is at your own risk. The booking guest is responsible for all members of their group.
Safety Rules
Children must be supervised at all times. No diving, running, or rough play. No glass containers in or around the pool.
Pool Cover & Heating
The pool cover is handled by us only — please don't remove or replace it yourself. The pool is typically covered in the evening (around 8–9 p.m.) and uncovered in the morning. Please let us know when you're finished using it for the day. It's a large pool (approx. 200,000 litres), heated with propane, so temperature is managed carefully. Pool use is available until 9:00 a.m. on checkout day.
Conduct
No swimming under the influence of alcohol or substances. The pool isn't intended for large, unsupervised party use.
Groups & Events
For larger groups (typically over 20–25 people), additional safety measures may be required, including restricted pool use or a certified lifeguard. These will be discussed with you in advance.
Responsibility & Liability
The booking guest is responsible for the conduct and safety of all participants. Any damage to the pool or surrounding area is the responsibility of the booking guest. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in restricted access.
